As a rapper my calling from God is to create music that is an expression of my daily reality in the hope that the music will help those who listen. The music is for the girl in the woman's refuge looking for hope in the gospel, for that young man looking for guidance in a brother, for the believer who needs courage on the journey of faith, for the revolutionary looking to bring social change, for the teacher looking to reach the kids in the classroom.
God loves all kinds of music! He gave us Hip-hop as a gift for his and our enjoyment. He created it so we can connect with God and each other for the sake of his Glory. At it's best, Hip-Hop started out as the voice of the voiceless, an expression of talent that was used to resolve conflict in a positive way. At it's worst, Hip-Hop has been scarred by the love of crime, sexual immorality and materialism.
We live in a culture where people are not complete until they achieve fame, until their bank balance overflows, until the pain of relationship breakdowns are resolved, until their pursuit of happiness is achieved but this pursuit is in vain and will lead to dispair unless we see Jesus as the main thing.
The Goal is to restore the goodness in our culture. To speak truthfully about the injustices in our world and our sinful condition, most importantly the goal is to create Hip-hop that screams of the worth of knowing Jesus Christ.
